The final Full Moon of the year arrives on December 29th in the sentimental sign of Cancer, and like most endings, this one will be bittersweet. Looking back at what a whirlwind of a year it has been for all of us, one thing that we all have experienced one way or another is the emotional weight of this year. The uncertainty, the unknown and the unexpected all came crashing down like a weight, drowning us in change. However, with change comes incredible growth, and that is definitely what will lead us forward into the age of Aquarius.
The sign of Cancer is ruled by the moon, therefore, the Full Moon will shine bright in its element on the 29th. The moon is a representation of our emotions, our ability to nurture ourselves, and our need for stability. This year was an evolution to say the least, and this Full Moon is here to remind us that regardless of our circumstances, we have the power to create, to love and to grow.
Our year started with a Full Moon in Cancer on January 10th, and will now come to an end in the same way. Cancer is the 4th sign of the zodiac, and the year 2020 is the number 4 year in numerology (2+2). The number 4 represents home and the heart of who we are. Majority of us spent more time at home this year than we ever have and although at times it may have been frustrating, it was exactly what we needed. This forced time to rejuvenate was necessary in order to prepare us for what's ahead.
The age of Aquarius centres around spirituality and evolution. Some believe we are already in this era, while others believe it has yet to begin. Digital technology plays a large part during this time, however, so does community. Rather than looking elsewhere for guidance and support, this shift will help create resources and support on a more accessible and community based level. Aquarius energy is very much centered around what is good for the collective as a whole, humanitarian efforts, and how to be practical. This will become a common theme for us going forward, as we shed the layers of what we have become from this transformative year.
Above all, many of us realized our true gift this year. We often measure our productivity based on tangible results, however, this year was about measuring how much we have loved, cared and gave to others; how much energy we poured back into this world.
Our brothers and sisters of the Indigenous tribes named this months moon the Cold Moon, considering it comes in the coldest month. During this month, the winter cold fastens its grip, as nights are at their longest and darkest. 2020 brought change, 2021 will bring innovation. May the vibrations of this Full Moon bring your soul incredible energy and guide you to where you need to be.
Namaste.
